Got A Job!

So after much debate I have finally decided to just give in and work for YBM ECC. I will possibly be in Seokchon a "burrow" if you will of Seoul. A couple of main attractions in this area are Lotte World and Olympic Park.

I'm excited. It's not set in stone that I will be in this part of Seoul but there is a very good possibility of it. I really don't mind if I get put in another school as long as I stay in the Seoul area.

Danny said that I could leave by the end of July. It feels like such a long ways away but I know that it's sooner then I think. I need to seriously start saving up some money to go. Plus I need new teacher appropriate clothing.

I have been bored

And me bored is a very bad thing because I tend to spend money. I decided to take this last week before Ocean's off because I got really tired of being bossed around by 17, 18 and 19 year olds. I'm not even going to go into it because a rant fest will in sue.

I decided to get my tattoo fixed today so that it would heal in time for swimming. Plus I was just tired of it looking like poop. So here is the before:

It is definitely a lot bigger than I had actually intended but I love it. I think it really shows the difference four years can make. When I got the original black crescent moon and pink star at 18 I was a lot more "emoer." Way more moody and depressed. Now here I am at 22 with lots more color and just in general happier.

Oh well I'm hoping it doesn't scab as badly as it did the first time. A small thing of ugly is better than half my back of ugly.

Anyway so I'm still debating on YBM. Good thing I still have a few more weeks to decide.

An Update

I somehow managed to pull off straight A's in my last semester as an undergraduate. I'm not going to say, "how did I pull that off" because I worked my butt off to get those grades. Normal people slack off during their last semester. Not me I guess. I mean I may have procrastinated a tiny bit but who doesn't?

I have been obsessively reading the "Twilight" series by Stephanie Meyer. I read two of the books in 4 days. I have concluded that I'm pretty much ridiculous.

Moving on I had my graduation party on Saturday. It was... fun. Another realization that I have come across is that I don't really know a whole lot of people in Kansas City. Maybe that will just make it easier to leave.

I started my Worlds of Fun/Oceans of Fun orientation. I had to sit through a three hour course yesterday which was just awful. We had to take a test afterwards and it took me 5 minutes to take it. I have a feeling that I am one of the oldest people their. How utterly depressing.

I have to go in tomorrow at 8:30 in the morning to be trained by high schoolers at the All Stars Restaurant at Worlds. I'm probably going to smell like all sorts of gross greasy food. I just have to tell myself that this is not forever and in two weeks I will be out of there and over at Oceans.

Dad told me that he talked to some of the HR ladies at the company he works for about me and they told him to tell me to fill out an application and send my resume so that I could be on file. Hmm, is working for HR like being Toby on The Office?

Alright so what this entry was actually about. I got a call from the YBM place and I was talking to the HR Manager Danny. He was just telling me that from my resume and picture (I like how he adds that my picture helped in deciding) that I was a good candidate for the YBM company. He pretty much just told me all of the bad things about public schools and why I should pick his company. Pretty convincing I'm not going to lie. He told me that he wanted to offer me this thing called the MOU which is like a binding agreement that once I get all of my documents together I will only sign a contract with them. If I do it I might be able to leave by the end of July or end of August at the latest.

I think I might just go ahead and do it so when people ask me if I have a job set up already I can finally say yes. As of right now my ramblings about going are just that. But with this MOU contract I'll have a definite position in Seoul. Exciting. It's getting close.

I'm a College Graduate

Well it's official. I have graduated college. Well I walked anyway. I won't get my diploma for 5 to 6 weeks so they can make sure I have met all of the requirements.

But yay! I'm done.

Korea here I come.

YBM Sisa/ 1 day left

I applied to these schools. They're kind of hard to explain. Just some privately owned schools that specifically teach English. So sadly not the public schools that I wanted, but this place seems pretty reputable. Anyways I might be able to leave by the end of July which would be awesome. I'm so ready to leave.

Tomorrow is my last day. I have to give a group presentation at 8am, then I'm finished. I don't feel like it's almost over. I'm definitely ready but I'm going to miss this place.
