Packing/ 2 days left!

I was putting plates and bowls into a box that it had come in and got a huge paper cut off of card board. I don't know what to do with my room. I mean I don't have a lot and yet still have so much. Maybe after my presentation at 2 I'll take apart my desk and get all the little things into something.

2 whole days left until graduation. Most of my grades are posted and they are:
PR Problems and Cases: A
Crisis Communications: A
Consumer Behavior: A
Promotions: I need 33 points out of 100 to get an A on the final today. I'm thinking do able.

I have no idea what I have in Persuasion or Senior Sem. I'm assuming I'm not failing so Graduation is still on. I picked up my cap and gown yesterday and it smells like it has been soaked in vinegar.

*Update* I got a 93% on my Promotions final. A in the class :)

Pictures of Kim's Wedding/ 6 days left

Happy Birthday Kim! So yesterday was the wedding. All the girls plus Kim's step sisters Cara and Hope and let's not forget Jake went to Perkins for breakfast. Right after Nina, Kim and I went to Starbucks where Kim got her Venti Non-fat White Mocha. Then we got our hair done. I don't know why but I really didn't like my hair but Kim's hair was gorgeous.

I'm super irritated that I don't know how to flip this picture but this is obviously Kim in her wedding dress. I absolutely love this dress. I think she was so pretty in it.

Nina and I after the wedding. Sorry this picture is out of place but oh well.

John putting Kim's ring on.

Kim putting John's ring on.

The kiss. The preacher forgot to have Kim say her vows. I guess he forgot where he was and made Kim say the "I do" part again. I felt bad for her but I don't think she really cared. This kiss, by the way, lasted about 5 minutes.

Rachael, me and mom after the wedding.

I know this picture is blurry but I really liked it. The whole wedding party.

The photographer was like, "Pretend like you're going to kiss him." And I was like... umm no. So in the end I did it quick and they got a picture of it. Darn.

Kim being Kim. Got to love her.

Me giving my speech. I was shaking bad at the end. I hate talking in front of people.

The only good cake shot I got.

Throwing the bouquet. If you really look I'm not enthused at all to be there lol. Beth, Kim's middle sister, caught it. Yay!

Garter.

First dance.

Father daughter dance.

Alex and I.

All three of us. I'm really glad that all of the planning and getting ready is over and that I can just look back on this experience as a memory. I really did enjoy being apart of her wedding. Being a maid of honor is hard work.

Kimberly's Wedding/ 7 days left

Well today is the wedding my dear readers. Grant it, it is only 11 minutes into the wedding day but none the less today is the day my best friend gets married. Today was a really long day. Persuasion Final which I hope I at least got a B on. I was the first one done but that doesn't necessarily mean that's a good thing. Went back to the house, packed up my car and rushed straight home to Kansas City try on my dress. Was insulted by mom, and then rushed home to unpack, clean out my closet, then get mani pedi's with Kim. Then picked up Nina, went to the church for the rehearsal, then dinner, then drove to the reception hall to decorate and now I'm here. Let me reiterate that it was a long day.

More to come tomorrow if I'm not dead tired.

Then or Than/ 9 days left

My sister kindly pointed out to me that I lack the grammatical understanding for the uses of "then" and "than." I don't understand why I can't use them correctly. I mean obviously I have just completely forgotten about "then" and replaced it every single time with "than." How embarrassing. I just went through my previous posts and changed my "than's" to "then's." I'm still afraid that I used them wrong. School has failed me.

Anyway, I ordered my transcripts. Why does everything cost money? Sure $3 a piece isn't a big deal but come on can't your first two be free? Oh well. Let's see now. I've been looking around online for luggage. What size is big enough to carry your whole life thousands of miles away? 30 inches, or at least that's what luggage makers think because I haven't seen anything bigger. I am a chronic over packer so I need lots of space.

So I have finally decided that I have my heart set on living in Seoul. I know that this is probably a mistake because it's really expensive to live there but I love big cities. Uijeongbu is only a 45 minute subway ride away. That isn't too far, and I can go see Homoni (Grandma), Emo (Aunt), and my cousins on weekends easily. I have a feeling that I'm not going to have the usual American Teacher in Korea experience because I have family there. Some of them haven't seen me since I was 5 and others I don't even know exist. I just got really excited :). I can't wait to go. 4 more months!

Kim's Bachelorette Party/ 13 days of school left

Kim's Bachelorette party was last night and it was pretty fun. I think it's crazy that she's getting married in 6 days. Anyways we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then Denim and Diamonds till 1 in the morning. She sure is a drinker. Now for a few pictures. The very first picture of the night on the way to The Cheesecake Factory.
The three of us. I've known Kim since I was in 4th grade and Nina since middle school.

Last Day at Hy-Vee/ 18 days left

Yesterday was my last day at Hy-Vee and it felt amazing. I worked 3-9 and even though it went by pretty slowly it wasn't to bad. Every thing that I did I kept thinking to myself, "This is the last time I'll have to do this." It was weird but I'm happy that part of my life is over.

And now here we are with 18 days left of school. I have so much stuff to do yet I refuse to do any of it. Senior seminar portfolio and paper. Persuasion group project. Crisis presentation. Cases online exams. I think I do my best work under pressure and I just don't feel pressured enough yet.

For Korea I have been making sure I'm getting all of my stuff together. In the next few days I'll be ordering my transcripts that will come with my diploma 5 to 8 weeks after I graduate. I'll sadly not be able to keep my diploma because I will have to mail it, along with my passport and I think some other documents, to the Korean Consulate in Chicago where they will be processing my visa. Then I have to send all that stuff to whatever Korean school decides wants me. THEN I'm on a plane. Seems to simple, yet there is so much crap to do.

I just got a call from some Financial Company or something that found my resume on monster.com and wanted me to come in for an interview. I had to tell them no. Thank you Korea because I don't want to work for anything like that. I'm starting to get the feeling that people don't care what your major is they just need bodies to sit in cubicles.

Snowing in Maryville/ 21 days! How did that happen?

The weather in Maryville has been just depressing. I can't help but feel slightly affected by the weather. I have little motivation to do anything.

I can't believe another week went by so quickly. I barely did anything which is sad but I am determined to get stuff done this weekend. My last day as a Hy-Vee deli girl is this Sunday. I have been working at the Maryville Hy-Vee since January 2006. I have weird feelings about this. I'm excited that I may never have to work at a Hy-Vee again yet I'm sad because I'm going to miss my meat department friends and a couple of deli people.

I paid off my $1000 Perkins school loan today. One of the biggest checks I've ever written. I was a little sad to see the money go but oh well. I saved myself $58 in interest that I would have acquired over the next 5 years of paying it off. Now if only I could pay off that $20,000 federal loan...

Nothing new on the Korea front other then keeping my grades up so I graduate and am able to go. 21 days till I graduate. That just seems insane. I remember when I first put this countdown application on my Facebook for graduation. It started at like 100 some days and now here we are at 21. I have no words for this.

April Fools/ 31 days left of school

I made my ultimate to do list of all the things I need to get done school wise for graduation. Thankfully I don't work these next three days so I'm hoping to get a good chunk of my work done.

Speaking of chunks last night while I was spraying out the case Mitchell, who I work with, cut a piece of his finger off while cleaning the slicer. I'm just spraying away and in a calm voice he goes,

"Ashley?"
I go, "Yeah."
He says still calm, "I just cut my finger." He was holding on to his finger and then ended up finding the piece of his finger that he cut off saying "There she is." It was kind of gross to see, just sitting there.

I was freaking out more than he was. He went to the hospital and came back with a giant wrapped finger. It looked kind of like when a cartoon character hits their finger with something and it swells up.

I filled out all of my Oceans of Fun paper work today during class. I have so many orientations, training, classes, it's kind of lame. My Saturday is pretty much screwed. I hope I get paid for it.
